growing old and rusty..

We recently bought ourselves an xbox 360. I thought that it would be really awesome! The husband and I went game shopping when the console arrived. I made the mistake of purchasing the wrong game (yea yea.. how was I suppose to know that games compatible with the xbox was different from games compatible with the xbox 360??). Another one arrived in the mail that was for a PS3 console even though it specifically said online that it was for the xbox 360 (yes we could return the product FOC). Anyway after much a do we finally got ourselves the right games and started playing...

The first few days were interesting. We got ourselves a sega racing game that was rather fun (we could race each other!!!!!! how fun is that??). And then being from THAT generation, we bought ourselves street fighter (we could fight each other!!!! how fun is that???). Well.. all the fun lasted for about 2 weeks, and then we got bored.

Our Xbox now lies untouched below the coffee table. The husband occasionally asked if we should totally get a xbox 360 live gold membership subscription whenever he sees that it is on discount. To which I reply.. we don't even use our xbox!!!!!!!!!!!!... why should we be getting membership? tsk..

i wonder if this is part of growing up? stuff like that just don't really hold our attention anymore. or perhaps it was just that when we were younger, our parents wouldn't let us play with our consoles all the time.. so we just want the untouchable! And now when we can do whatever we want.. meeh.. it just doesn't seem so attractive anymore? then again maybe its because games nowadays are so hard (seriously.. I can't beat the big boss in street fighter no matter how many times I try and that annoys the crazies out of me..). And those game controllers.. they are just so NOT ergonomic!!! My hand aches from just trying to press all those million buttons (what happened to the simple 4 buttons that used to be??!!). Watatatata..

oh.. haha.. just recalled how my brother used to play with his imaginary game controller when it was not his turn, he'd mimic the actual player exactly. Addict! haha.. lol..

Or maybe it's just the company.. lol. We need a better crowd to enjoy the xbox. Whatever the reason is.. nobody's playing with it (husband if you're reading is we should totally play with our xbox!!!!!). Our only consolation is that the console doubles as a DVD player (and we have the starwars trilogy in DVD that we watch from time to time!! woohoo..), so at least it is being "used" in some sense.
